Target Cube Storage Hack Media Console
For a while now, I have wanted a record player and when I found a fully functional one on the street, I had to have it! I also had to find a prime location to display it. I needed something with a specific size and shape to fit my small living space. Instead of buying something new, I decided I would try a Target cube storage hack. By upgrading an inexpensive piece that I already owned, I was able to save money, and add my own finishes to it.
What You’ll Need:
- Cube storage unit
- 4 bun feet
- 2 wooden boards that are at least the hight and width of the unit.
- Jigsaw
- Wood stain
- 4 hinges (you need these)
- Drill
- cabinet knobs (I used these)
Measure and Cut | Target Cube Storage Hack
Start with a cube storage unit. I used this one from Target. Assemble it according to package directions. Next, measure and cut the wood so that the doors will be flush when closed. I used a jigsaw for this part and I had to be extra careful to keep a straight line while cutting.
Stain and Install | Target Cube Storage Hack
Stain your wooden doors and bun feet and let it dry completely. I used this stain.
Install the doors by drilling on the hinges. Sand edges as needed. Drill 4 even holes in the bottom of the cube and screw in feet. Using a drill and drill bit, make two evenly spaced holes on the top of each door for the cabinet knobs. Finally, install the knobs.
Elevate the Look | Target Cube Storage Hack
The handles that you choose for your console are the key to elevating this peace and making it look more expensive than it actually is. Make sure you buy quality knobs. There are so many types and styles to choose from. Check out my guide “13 of the Most Stylish, Modern, and Budget-friendly Cabinet Knobs” for tips on finding the right ones.
Small Space Storage
This Target cube Storage hack is such a great and inexpensive way to add storage to a small space. The 12×12 cubbies buy the perfect size for storing everyday items that you want to hideaway. They’re also made to fit 12×12 storage baskets and bins which makes storing items even more convenient.
This item has become the perfect home for board games, video games and equipment, and, of course, my new record collection
