If you’re like me and you’re tired of the standard evergreen holiday wreath, this is a beautiful alternative. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the look and incredible smell of a fresh pine wreath but, I also like to mix it up a bit.

This wreath still uses fresh elements and bright natural colors to give you that cheery holiday feel. Something about. the color scheme of this wreath immediately transports me to Christmas morning. For me, It brings to mind images of a bountiful Christmas breakfast. (Clearly my favorite part of Christmas morning

This is also a great budget-friendly wreath project because you probably already have all of the materials for it on hand in your home or in your backyard.

What You’ll Need

The first thing you need to do is to collect the natural materials for that you will incorporate into the wreath. This was one of my favorites parts of the project.

I sourced most of my materials from my backyard and from around the neighborhood. It was really fun to get outside and look around at the different leaves and foliage around me.

This is also a great outdoor activity to do with kids.

Once you have your materials, it’s time to start on the wreath.

Begin by laying your gold medal frame on a flat surface. If you’re using a wire hanger, first stretch and bend it into a circular shape. Leave the hook at the top for hanging.

Using the floral tape, wire, or a hot glue gun, attach each piece of your natural materials to the wreath. I wrapped thin tree branches and creeping vines around mine for the base. Next, I added pine cones and tiny yellow limes that had fallen off my tree.

Top off the wreath by tying a gold ribbon to it. I used my ribbon at the top to hide the base of the wire hanger’s hook.

I had planned to finish off the wreath by adding a layer of gold spray paint. However, once I added the pretty pop of yellow with the limes, I immediately knew that I should leave it off and go for a natural look. Depending on how the wreath holds up and whether or not it starts to brown, I may add the gold paint later. For now, however, the colors of this fresh holiday wreath are too pretty to cover up.
